Technology - Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)

We know that PERS is a very sensitive service offering, so we have deployed state-of-the-art alarm monitoring equipment and software to ensure faultless service to our customers.

Personal Emergency Response System - Technical workflow

  • User presses the button on the pendant
  • The panel (at the user’s home) detects the signal
  • Panel is connected to the home phone which automatically dials out a predefined phone number which we have programmed into the Panel. Two-way audio communication is thus created between the PERS user and a trained Operator at the Central Monitoring Station. Also, the telephone signal carries with it a unique identifying code for each PERS user, obtained from the user’s Panel.
  • The phone number hits the switch of a PSTN (Public Switch Telephone Network).
  • Next, it hits the Digital Receiver which is installed in our New York office. It decodes the code which comes along with the telephone signal.
  • The Digital Receiver is linked to server-based ‘Micro Key’ central monitoring software.
  • Our Micro Key Server has a database where we enter the demographic details of the client (location, primary and secondary contacts, medical conditions etc.). As soon as the Micro Key software recognizes the signal, it pulls up all relevant information as well as a direct connection for two way speaking.
  • These terminals are immediately accessed through remote connectivity by our Operators at the Central Monitoring Station, enabling a more effective and speedier response to the PERS user’s emergency. The Operator is able to speak with the PERS user by telephone while simultaneously accessing key information about the user via our database.

Digital Receiver

Digital receiver is one of the most advanced central station receivers in the world. System III is a robust, 24-line virtual receiver that resides in two 19-inch rack-mount cages and is configured for auto-switching redundancy. It has the ability to handle an enormous number of accounts and perform a multitude of monitoring functions. cfhealth

Micro Key Software

Micro Key is one of the most reliable software systems used in the security alarm industry. It has robust features. Micro Key Millennium's Software allows entering People to Call and User Set-up for Open and Closing Reports with actual, detailed user information.

Disaster Recovery

We have a Disaster Recovery Center in Texas, provided by our service provider, which provides extensive emergency backup services for us including financing, emergency backup facilities, staffing, and marketing media. The SG-System III provides technology that allows the Disaster Recovery Center’s emergency backup facility to transfer their service operations, approximately 80,000 to 100,000 accounts, in the event of an emergency situation.

Also, we have a separate facility for maintaining regular back up and an exact replica of our production environment data for redundancy purposes should there be a single point of failure.
